Rare, live, on-site recording of traditional sacred Tibetan Buddhist chants and instrumental music, recorded at Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, northern India, in August 1999. Release honors His Holiness Ugyen Trinley Dorje, the 17th Karmapa, the spiritual leader of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. This is the world premiere recording of a sacred ritual service which invites the return of the 17th Karmapa to the Rumtek Monastery.
