Jewels of Light Vol 1

Volume one of the Jewels of Light contains transcripts of seven seminars by five renowned scholars of the Karma Kagyü Lineage.

Each one provides a clear instruction on developing compassion and loving kindness towards all sentient beings. Although lacking poetic eloquence, this is the first volume in the collection of five volumes that consist of teachings for reference and study that we hope will help Buddhist practitioners progressively accomplish benevolence and thus contribute to peace in the world.

Volume one commences with the fundamental teaching by Chöje Lama Phuntsok on the four preliminary contemplations to correctly practice mind training.

Secondly are his teachings on the actual practice of Lojong, ‘mind training,’ then followed by his remarkable instructions on entering the path of Tantrayana.

The fourth wonderful teaching in this volume is on the three principal aspects of the path that were kindly presented by Drupön Khenpo Lodrö Namgyal.

Fifth is the teaching on the wheel of conditioned existence in the context of the Four Noble Truths that every disciple of Buddhism should know and reflect on and that was generously offered by Khenpo Karma Namgyal.

Sixth is a modern presentation by Acharya Lama Kelzang Wangdi on dealing with stress through mindfulness meditation practices according to the Satipatthana-Sutta.

Seventh is a teaching on The Short Dorje Chang Lineage Prayer which is paramount to disciples of the Karma Kagyü Lineage and that was kindly presented by Acharya Lama Sönam Rabgye.
